The Disappearance of Stephen Millis

49 year old Stephen Millis was last seen in Hesperia, Michigan on January 4, 2019. He disappeared after visiting the Dollar General store in the 300 block of east South Street.

Disappearance

At 6:40 pm on January 4, 2019, Stephen Millis entered the Dollar General store located at 395 E. South Street and bought cat food. Surveillance footage shows him leaving the store at 6:48 pm before walking out of view of the camera. He hasn’t been seen since.  

He planned on meeting someone out in the parking lot to sell some fishing gear that evening, before heading out to Muskegon to meet a couple of friends.

When the man who planned on buying the fishing gear arrived, Stephen was nowhere to be found. His truck was left behind in the parking lot, unlocked with his personal belongings inside.

According to his family, a witness reported seeing Millis getting into a white vehicle.

Investigation

There has been no activity on his cell phone, bank accounts, or social media since he went missing.

Stephen’s family says he had been hanging out with a rough crowd, and fear he may have been set up and/or killed.

Stephen is known to hang out in Lake County and Muskegon County.

Searches have been conducted in several lakes in Oceana and Newaygo counties, but no evidence as to his whereabouts have been found.

Appearance

White male with brown hair and blue eyes. Stephen stands 5’9 tall and weighs 179 pounds.

Clothing & Accessories:
Stephen was last seen wearing a red and black buffalo style flannel shirt over a grey shirt, light color jeans, and grey work boots.
